Statutory Instruments number 21 and 22 will be enforced accordingly in prevention of Covid 19 – Kanganja

Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja says the police will ensure that all provisions of the law on the enforcement of COVID-19 prevention measures are adhered to. Mr Kanganja said Statutory Instruments numbers 21 and 22 will be enforced accordingly and people found flouting the law will be dealt with accordingly.

He has reminded bar and night club owners to adhere to President Edgar Lungu’s directive to only operate on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 18:00hrs to 23:00hrs on each respective day. Speaking at a fumigation exercise of Woodlands Police Station by Wash Zambia, a Lusaka based Laundry firm this morning, Mr. Kanganja said the COVID-19 pandemic had also affected the operations of the Zambia Police Service.

Wash Zambia Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Kays said police officers are front line workers who are at high risk of contracting the virus hence his company’s move to fumigate the the station.
