Written by on April 9, 2021

Presidential aspirant, Kelvin Bwalya says he will contest the Republican Presidency in the August despite his decision not to contest the Patriotic Front Party Presidency. Mr. Bwalya says he decided not to contest the party Presidency because he respects the rule of law and does not wish to promote lawlessness.

Mr. Bwalya says the forthcoming Patriotic Front General Conference is a sham and undemocratic because the mandate of the current Central Committee expired in 2016.

Mr. Bwalya reiterated that he is still a member of the Patriotic Front and still in good standing with the party.

Mr. Bwalya says the Patriotic Front nomination process was undemocratic and that thugs were organized to stop him from filing in his nomination papers yesterday.

In conclusion, Mr. Bwalya reminded Zambians that President Edgar Lungu is not eligible to contest the August 2021 Presidential elections as has already served two terms.
