APRI carries out Survey on COVID-19 impact on Zambia’s food security

The Indaba Agriculture Policy Research Institute is carrying out a data-based survey on the impact of Covid-19 on the country’s food security, authorities have said.
Chance Kabaghe, the Organisation Executive Director said the coronavirus is likely to impact negatively on the food security of the country especially at household level hence the need to collect accurate data to help address the impact of the pandemic.
Mr Kabaghe said this will also call for enhanced climate smart agricultural practices which will help the country to produce more food and help to make the country food secure.
In an interview with Capital FM News, Mr Kabaghe has also advised that there is need for market-based approach in the agriculture sector so that farmers can earn a bit of income for their families.
