Consensus has been achieved over the constitution amendment Bill 10 which is expected to be tabled before parliament this week by Justice Minister Given Lubinda, PF parliamentary Chief Whip has said.
Brian Mundubile, the PF Mporokoso constituency Member of Parliament is confident that the bill will pass the second reading as all the contentious issues have been addressed.
Mr Mundubile says the bill has been widely accepted by a wider section of society as can be seen from the debate from the opposition, civil society organisations, the church and some interest groups.
Speaking at the PF Interactive forum in Lusaka today, Mr. Mundubile said that the process of the Bill has been very transparent as opposed to the notion being created by the opposition that it was a non inclusive and transparent process from the get
And Eastern Province Minister Makebi Zulu said it is erroneous for the Civil Society Constitutional Agenda to urge lawyers to boycott court on account of a Judiciary decision to bar lawyer John Peter Sangwa
Meanwhile, PF Media Director Sunday Chanda says some sections of the civil society continue to disseminate lies demonising the Constitutional Amendment Bill 10.
Mr. Chanda argued that the PF as a party in power is obliged to ensure that legal issues in the Zambian Constitution are addressed and effectively redressed.
