The Medical for Quality Healthcare in Zambia is worried with the increase in the number of COVID-19 positive cases among health workers in the country.
So far, nine health workers in the country have tested positive for COVID-19.
Quince Mwabu, the organization Director General says this sad situation can chiefly be attributed to inadequate or lack of proper personal protective equipment provided to health workers.
Dr. Mwabu says the nation deserves a clear explanation as to how exactly health workers are contracting the Corona virus from patients if indeed the Ministry provides protective gear to them.
Dr. Mwabu has since urge the Ministry of Health to expedite the process of recruiting the 400 medical Doctors and 3000 paramedics as directed by the Republican President.
He observes that this will greatly improve on the number of health workers involved in combating the virus.
