“Lawlessness Shall Be Met With Proportionate Force” – Katongo

The Zambia Police Service has instituted investigations with the view of impounding all the buses that were used to ferry cadres on Wednesday last week when UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema was being questioned at police headquarters in Lusaka.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo says more than 32 bus loads of cadres were spotted on the day in question. Katongo has warned that as the country prepares to hold it’s general election next year, the police will not tolerate any scheme by any political party with the potential to cause anarchy in the country.
Mrs. Katongo said lawlessness shall be met with proportionate force because Zambia as a country is bigger than any individual.
Meanwhile Mrs. Katongo has thanked the families of Mr. Nsama Nsama Chipyoka of National Prosecution Authority and Joseph Kaunda for allowing their relatives to be buried peacefully without any disturbance.
In a related matter, the Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja is today expected to submit a report to President Edgar Lungu on the killing of a UPND member and a prosecutor from National Prosecution Authority by police last week during a public disturbance.
