PRIME TV Proprietor Gerald Shawa has apologized to government and Zambians over his outbursts during a meeting convened by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for media owners and News Managers. Speaking at a briefing this afternoon, Mr. Shawa admitted that he was emotional during the engagement with government when he refused to help government to publicise messages on the dreaded COVID-19 which has ravaged most countries in the world.
Mr. Shawa said his media house cannot operate without collaborating with government as it is a key stakeholder in the media industry.
Meanwhile, MISA Zambia Chairperson Hellen Mwale has commended Mr. Shawa for showing courage by publicly apologising to government.
