Written by on February 1, 2021

Opposition Party for National Unity and Progress, Highvie Hamududu says the thought of postponing the August 12th 2021 general elections due to the coronavirus pandemic should not be entertained.

Mr Hamududu says that like many other countries that have held elections amidst the coronavirus pandemic, stakeholders should be preparing to hold elections under the COVID new normal.

Speaking on Capital FM’s ‘Frank on Capital’ radio programme today, Mr. Hamududu says elections are inevitable by law and postponing them would disturb a lot of national programmes.

Mr. Hamududu implored the opposition to enhance utilization of the media to reach the masses in the COVID era to avoid exposing people to the pandemic. He further urged the ruling PF to stop the early campaigns which have potential to spread the virus through their mass gatherings.
