TIZ disappointed with Presidents parliamentary address

Transparency International Zambia is disappointed that President Edgar Lungu did not address parliament on the immorality that allowed the Honeybee drug scandal to happen.
TIZ Executive Director, Maurice Nyambe says it is unfortunate that the President’s speech turned a blind eye to the rampant corruption in government, saying that there is nothing moral about corruption nor does it contribute to the values that Zambia has espoused.
Mr Nyambe described the President’s address as a missed opportunity to bring out assertive issues that the country is grappling with. President Edgar Lungu this morning addressed Parliament on the progress made in the application of national values and principles as espoused in the Constitution of Zambia.
In related news, Foundation for Democratic Process Executive Director, George Chimembe wondered why the Head of State ignored the immorality of corruption and further observed that the Presidents talk on political violence did not inspire confidence.
