WARMA warns of floods

The Water Resources Management Authority has issued a flood alert for Kasempa District in North Western Province due to increased rainfall activities.
WARMA Public Relations Officer, Joshua Kapila says there is a high likelihood of flooding along the banks of Lubungu and Lunga Rivers from 27th to 31st January 2021.
Mr Kapila says forecast also shows a high probability of flooding around Mumbwa at the Hook Bridge, and in areas downstream of the Itezhi Tezhi Dam and Kasaka hydrometric station on the Kafue River which is projected to occur around the 7th to 9th February 2021.
He has advised people in the named areas to take the necessary precautionary measures in anticipation of the projected floods to avoid loss of life and property.
