President Edgar Lungu has announced the immediate reopening of Mfuwe, Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe and Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula international airports that were closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Addressing the Nation today, the President said the reopening of the three international airports will help trigger recovery of the tourism sector not only in Livingstone, but the country as a whole.
The President has since directed the Ministries of Health, Tourism, Finance and Home Affairs to ensure heightened health guidelines in all the airports.
And President Edgar Lungu has approved a K30 million youth empowerment scheme and will be launched in Lusaka soon.
He has directed the Minister of Youth, Sports and Child Development, Emmanuel Mulenga to create opportunities that will impart skills in the youth
President Lungu also announced that bars and night clubs will remain closed until all the necessary procedures are met.
Meanwhile, the President also revealed that the nation’s cumulative number of COVID-19 cases have surged to 1,497.
