Ten people, including a police officer, have been killed by a gunman after an hour-long stand-off at King Soopers grocery store in Boulder County, Colorado.
The shooting was live-streamed by witnesses and broadcast on YouTube and attack ended with police detaining an injured suspect. 51-year-old Eric Talley, who was the first police officer to respond to the shooting is among those killed by the gunman.
The area’s district attorney, Michael Dougherty, said the shooting was a “tragedy and a nightmare for Boulder County.” He added that the victims were just ordinary people going about their day, doing their shopping and promised the victims, and the people of the state of Colorado that justice would be secured.
Aside from Officer Eric Tally, no other details have been released about the other nine victims or the motive for the attack.
The grocery store is located in a busy shopping plaza in Boulder, a north-central Colorado city about 50km away from the state capital of Denver.
