Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya says all the 82 passengers that disembarked from the Emirates flight on 15th March 2020 have been in self quarantine.

And Dr. Chilufya says no new cases of Corona virus have been recorded following the first two cases that were confirmed in the country.

He says 29,992 travelers were screened of which 2,258 came from High risk countries. 460 have been cleared under the 14 days quarantine.

Speaking at a media briefing, Dr. Chilufya directed Bars and taverns to operate for 2 hours daily and urged restaurants to offer take away meals instead of ‘stay in’ to avoid overcrowding. 

At the same event Minister of Water Development Sanitation and Environmental Protection Minister, Dr.  Dennis Wanchinga instructed all water utility firms not to disconnect supply to any household.

Meanwhile, Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister Godfridah Sumaili directed churches to conduct their services for one hour and reduce the number of congregants in bid to avert the spread of COVID-19
