Police in Lusaka have re-arrested five gassing suspects out of the 12 who were released on Tuesday this week after the state entered a nolle prosequi.
The Lusaka High Court this week released 12 accused persons who were charged with gassing related offences after the State entered a Nolle Prosequi.
The Five were re-arrested jointly with another person who had not earlier been charged for Malicious Administering of poison with intent to harm contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
The Six will appear in court soon for the new charge.
Meanwhile, Police in Lusaka have arrested and charged Mwewa Evans Mpandashalo for the offence of Criminal Libel contrary to section 191 and 192 of the penal code.
Mpandashalo aged 48 of Kamwala South in Lusaka is alleged to have produced and published a false or fabricated and malicious article on a social media platform with intent to defame and injure the reputation Minister of Home Affairs, Stephen Kampyongo.
He is currently detained in Police custody awaiting court appearance.
