President Hakainde Hichilema says there is need to show prudence in local resource management before the government can engage the international community over the Zambia’s debt stock.
President Hichilema says the Zambian people need to understand that resources are scarce and that his government is looking to control frivolous expenditure.

In an interview with the BBC’s Focus on Africa last evening, President Hichilema stated that his administration is yet to ascertain the extent of the damage caused by corruption in the previous administration and the country’s exact debt status.
