Together Africa without Orphans (TAWO), an NGO representing Orphans has lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission of Zambia on what it termed as ‘tribal sentiments’ being championed by Senior Chief Mukuni of Southern Province.
The NGO has noted with concern that despite being cited as a culprit in the promulgation of electoral violence and irregular voting patterns by a Commission of Inquiry, Senior Chief Mukuni of the Toka Leya has continued promoting tribalism.
In the letter addressed to the Commission dated 26th March 2021, and signed by its’ Country Representative, Chanda Nonde, the Organization has asked the Commission to investigate the alleged tribalism being exhibited by the traditional leader.
TAWO Country Representative, Mr. Nonde says tribalism has the potential to destabilize the country.
